Security operatives have netted a man in Jinja city for impersonating a UPDF boss while terrorizing and duping unsuspecting civilians.

Emmanuel Ngobi, a resident of Ntege village in the southern division of Jinja city fooled locals into believing he was a captain from the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence-CMI.

Ngobi who obtained UPDF attire that he always wore during his mischievous missions claimed he was assigned from the CMI headquarters to hire fitting people for employment under the World Food Program.

By the time of his arrest, NGobi had reportedly conned people close to 25 million Shillings from Mukono and Jinja districts.

However his lacks soon run out and he was nabbed by police and of Uganda Peoples Defense Forces-UPDF today and thrown into custody
at the at Gadaffi military barracks.

Security personnel also retrieved one military bayonet and a military jacket from the suspect.

Ngobi was paraded before the press where he confessed conning people to raise money to start a business of his own, since he was unemployed.

The Jinja zonal spokesperson, Edwin Mawanda says Ngobi will be arraigned before the court-martial where the prosecution will decide on the preferable charges against him.
