Uganda People Defence Forces –UPDF has warned the public to be aware and if possible avoid using Boda Bodas at night during curfew to avoid being victims of robbery and other increasing crime.

According to the First Division Spokesperson, Maj Yusuf Bilal Katamba, security organs have realized thugs have switched to the habit of rotating the night using motorcycles to rob and kill persons.

He says the Local Defence Units –LDUs have netted many armed thugs going on destructive missions with machetes, knives, and clubs on motorcycles.

He has also warned those found breaching curfew will be dealt a hard blow by security operatives who have now intensified surveillance.

President Yoweri Museveni has since much this year instituted a curfew that has since been revised from a 6 am to 6 pm mainly for Boda Boda operators.

So far incidents of crime have been registered in Nabweru Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District and Ndege Lubugumu, where motorcycles and weapons have been impounded with criminals being netted.
