The Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan McKinstry, has told the local based players mainly those who play in the top league and Big League that they are still part of his plans.

It should be remembered that McKinstry named a 20-man squad of only foreign-based players to prepare for next month’s 2022 AFCON qualifying ties against South Sudan.

The coach emphasized that he has a slot of five players that he has to add to the 20-man squad to make a total of 25 players.

Most football followers were not happy with the national team coach’s selection after he ignored the locally based players but the coach says that he still considers them and he is leaving them to prepare for CHAN.

“All our foreign players are actively playing since their leagues are ongoing unlike our local based players who have been down since football was called off due to the covid-19 pandemic.

However coach McKinstry has an advise to the local based players that they will still get chance and if they can be given chance to step on the pitch, let them prove to their best.
