After a week when coach Hamza Lutalo has taken up the coaching role at U-17 national football team, he has reduced the team to 35 players after he initially summoned 52 players ahead of the zonal regional qualifiers for U17 African Cup of Nations 2021.

The team is using IUIU Campus Kabojja and FUFA technical center, Njeru. Lutalo has reduced the squad to 35 players who will further be reduced to 20 players before they depart to Rwanda U17 CECAFA AFCON Qualifiers will take place.

Coach Lutalo says that the reason as to why they are trimming the team as earlier as now is because the time is against them and the technical team will continue monitoring the released players in the juniors league.

The tournament will consist of nine countries divided into three groups and Uganda was drawn in group B alongside Ethiopia and Kenya.
