Tomorrow the 14th of January polling day and Friday have been gazetted as public holidays.

The government of Uganda has declared the January 14th and 15th official public holidays.

The message was carried in a circular from the Permanent Secretary for Public Service Ministry Catherine Birakwate.

It says these 2 days will be observed as public holidays throughout Uganda to enable citizens to participate in the elections of the president and members of parliament.

Addressing a presser this afternoon at the national tally center in kyambogo,the EC boss justice Simon Byabakama says voting commences at 7 am on Thursday morning and ends at 4 pm.

Byabakama says  presidential results will be out in 48 hours that is Saturday by 4 pm.
