Locals in the Kalangala district are grieving after Seven people fell off a fishing boat and drowned on Lake Victoria.
The deceased were on board from Lwanabatya Landing Site in Kyamuswa Sub County Kalangala district to Kasenyi landing site in Entebbe when their boat capsized after a heavy wind struck in the wee hours of the morning.
3 children and 4 women have been confirmed dead while 2 others survived after holding onto a jerrican and fuel tank.
The deceased have been identified as Gloria Amito, Grace Amito, Irene Amiya and Caroline Afoyoloti. The remaining are 3 Children aged 4 and 2 years respectively.
Some of the deceased were heading to Masindi and Nebbi districts alongside their children.
Police have not been able to retrieve some of the dead bodies from the lake, although the search is still on.
