Singer Eddy Kenzo has been apparently kicked out and immediately replaced by Golden boy Joshua Cheptegei as New ambassador of Uganda Tourism.
The Tourism board today Wednesday 10th, Feb announced working relationship with the World’s 10,000m record holder Joshua Cheptegei.
The appointment announcement has been made through the board’s different media platforms.
“Today we have reached an agreement with world champion Joshua Cheptegei as out tourism ambassador for brand Uganda” UTB said.
Cheptegei has commended UTB for awarding him with the responsibility to be Uganda tourism brand ambassador. He has assured the board to share his Ugandan story to the rest of the world.
Cheptegei has also called upon Ugandans in Diaspora to support their country’s tourism sector by visiting and discovering more about the it.
“I’m delighted to be here this morning-to express solidarity with all the players in Uganda’s tourism industry, as they seek to rebuild and industry that has been nearly destroyed by Covid 19 pandemic. I am deeply grateful to the Ugandan Tourism Board ( UTB) for having chosen me for this high responsibility, to be my country’s tourism ambassador.
I look forward to sharing my Ugandan story to the world. In the same breath I call upon Ugandans especially those in the diaspora to make it a point to visit and discover more about our country” Cheptegei said.
However an inside source tips us that Eddy Kenzo, who was appointed in 2020 as the face of the sector wasn’t knifed but rather will work hand in hand and share the ambassadorial role with Cheptegei.
