The Uganda National Examinations Board -UNEB has released its 2020 final year examination programs for candidates seeking to seat this year.

The UNEB executive secretary, Dan Odongo says examinations are taking place in 2021 because of the time lost by the candidates during the COVID-19 lockdown.

According to the calendar, PLE exams start on March 30 and end on March 31, UCE starts on March 1up to April 6th while the UACE will happen between   April 12 and  May 3, 2021.

Odongo has however warned against the vice of examination malpractice saying those captured will face tighter consequences than ever before.

The consequences come from the passing of the UNEB bill in parliament that will see examination cheaters face a jail time of 10 years or a fine of 40 million shillings. It awaits to be approved by the president.

“The chief invigilator must begin the morning session at 9.00 am and the afternoon session at 2.00 pm. Any deviation from the set time must be explained to the board in writing, Any candidate who comes more than 15 minutes late from the start of an examination will not be allowed to sit the examination ”, he adds
