A police cop in Sheema has been thrown into custody for shooting dead a 27yr old man.

Eliot Kabangira, a resident of Bubare 1 Rutooma Kitagata was killed by Eliab Ndebesa, a police cop attached to Kitagata police station.

The deceased ‘s father identified as Charles Kahuhe told police that prior to killing his son, Kabangira had been threatening to wipe out other members of his family, including his siblings and casual laborer.

Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, says the deceased’s father, had already filed a case of threatening violence at Kitagata police station on Tuesday evening.

According to Tumusiime, on Wednesday morning Ndebesa and another police officer he didn’t mention went to arrest the suspect.

He resisted arrest and turned violent. He later ran into the house prompting one of the officers to pursue him.
