URA To Tax Mbarara

A tough evening awaits Sam Ssimbwa and URA when they visit a highly inspired Charles Livingston Mbabazi’s Mbarara city side at Kakyeka.

The Ankole Lions are in high spirits since the return of their former tactician and son of the soil.

City have not lost a match under Mbabazi having drawn 1-1 with BUL, beaten Wakiso Giants and managed to hold URA in the first leg of this round of 32 tie.

The pressure is now on URA because anything short of a win will spell doom for them. A scoring draw will see the Tax Collectors advance on away goals rule whereas a repeat of the first leg result will lead the tie into a penalty shootout.

Sam Ssimbwa’s side has been depleted by the withdrawal of 3 first team stars in Benjamin Nyakojo (injury) Ashraf Mandela (knjury) and red hot striker Rwothomio Cromwell who has been diagnosed with Malaria.

The scoring burden has been left to UPL topscorer Steven Mukwala and inspirational captain Shafik Kagimu.

After featuring in the previous fixture after a long injury layoff, goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi is expected to maintain his place between the sticks.

URA To Tax Mbarara

Mbarara City have already confirmed the absence of midfielder Ronald Edwork who joined the club’s injury list that also has Bashir Mutanda, Jasper Aheebwa, Soulaymane Bamba and Wol Makweth
