Kajoba Resigns At Vipers

Vipers SC head coach Fred Kajoba has resigned from his role, as we speak now the Venoms are to be with a yet known caretaker after their head tactician, Fred Kajoba resigned from his job with immediate effect.

According to local sports website, Football256, the staunch Catholic tactician, resigned this evening  with less than two days to Vipers’ quarterfinal return leg fixture of Stanbic Uganda Cup against Sports Club Villa at Military Barracks playground in Bombo.

Kajoba decided to end his relationship with Vipers SC after he club’s technical director Charles Masembe asked him to decide between Vipers and the Uganda Cranes.

Kajoba has decided to lay down his tools on Monday, May 31, a day before the Venoms face SC Villa in the Stanbic Uganda Cup last 8 second leg.

It is understood that Kajoba who took over from Edward Golola in January 2020 took the decision after he was asked by the club’s Technical Director Charles Masembe to choose between his role with the National team and the one at Vipers.

It should be noted that Kajoba also doubles as the Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach, a role he has executed for over 10 years.

During his time at Vipers, he led them to the 2019/20 league title and took charge of their unsuccessful campaign in the CAF Champions League where they bowed out in the first phase of qualification.

At the time of his departure, Vipers were third on the Uganda Premier League table standings on 56 points, two behind leaders Express FC with just four games to play.

Kajoba Resigns At Vipers

Earlier today, Kajoba had been part of the Cranes training at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo as the sides commenced preparations for their June 10th friendly with South Africa in Johannesburg.

He becomes the third coach to leave Vipers in the last three seasons, succeeding both Javier Martinez and Edward Golola.
