President Museveni announced the new Vice President, Prime Minister, Honourable Cabinet Ministers, and other Ministers.

The President made the announcement by virtue of the Authority given to the President of Uganda by Articles: 108(2), 108A(1), 113(1) and 114(1) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

Hon. Jessica Alupo was appointed the new Vice President replacing Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja replaced Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda as Prime Minister.

Here are some big names that were axed by Sevo.

Godfrey Ssuubi Kiwanda

He has been the State Minister for Tourism in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. He is famously known for embracing the Rolex and the Miss. Curvy Contest.

He has been outspoken and a diehard fan of Sevo.

Sam Kahamba Kutesa

He is a veteran politician and lawyer. He has been the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda, a position he has held since 13 January 2005 and maintained through three cabinet reshuffles. He was also the elected Member of Parliament for Mawogola County in Sembabule District until his daughter Shartice took over in the just concluded elections.

Ronald Kibuule

He is a Ugandan politician. He has been the State Minister for Water Resources in the Ugandan Cabinet. He was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Betty Oyella Bigombe. From 27 May 2011 until 1 March 2015, he served as the State Minister for Youth and Children.

Beti Olive Namisango Kamya-Turomwe

Also known as Betty Kamya and Beti Kamya. She has been the Cabinet Minister of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development in the Cabinet of Uganda, since 14 December 2019.


Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi

He is a Ugandan politician and lawyer who has been Vice President of Uganda since 24 May 2011. Prior to that, he served as the Speaker of Parliament from 2001 to 2011. He served as Member of Parliament for Bukoto County Central constituency from 1996 to 2021.

Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi

She has been the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016.

Ida Erios Nantaba

She has been the State Minister in the Uganda Ministry of Information and Communications Technology. She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016. Prior to that, from 15 August 2012 until 6 June 2016, she was Minister of State for Lands in the Cabinet of Uganda

Ruhakana Rugunda

He has been Prime Minister of Uganda since 2014. He held a long series of cabinet posts under President Yoweri Museveni beginning in 1986. He served as Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1994 to 1996 and as Minister of Internal Affairs from 2003 to 2009.

General Elly Tumwine

He was the Security Minister of Uganda, Ugandan military officer, professional artist, and educator. He served as commander of the National Resistance Army from 1984 to 1987.
