Bebe Cool says he has never gone head to head with Bobi Wine.

In the early 2000s, fights were the biggest topics in the Ugandan music industry. Only those who fought managed to get attention from the fans at a time when Congolese music was dominant.

Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, and Jose Chameleone were always grabbing headlines because of their unending fights.

However, Bebe Cool has come out with a new revelation that has shocked the nation. According to the Gagamel boss, the fights with fellow singers, Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine were engineered to drive Congolese Music out of Uganda.

The Gagamel singer said this was intended to get attention from the fans something that popularised their music. This made them who they are today. “When we started singing, people here were listening to Congolese music. We started the fights to get the attention of the public from the Congolese to our own music. But times have changed. You start fighting now, you lose fans in numbers,” he said.

Despite the unending beef with his music son, Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool said he had never confronted Bobi Wine face to face but rather all their fights were verbal.

Unlike Bobi Wine, the ‘Love you everyday’ hitmaker fought physically with Chameleone a number of times.

The Gagamel boss made the remarks while having a Skype interview with a local TV Station.y

He is currently in Gulu where he is training artists from that region on the dynamics of the music industry.
