Express FC have added five new stars to their ranks but the stand out name is Nicholas Kasozi, a former SC Villa and KCCA FC midfield gem.

The other players the league and CECAFA Club Champions signed are Jowel Vama (goalkeeper), Bukenya Deus (defender), Raymond Walugembe (winger) and Joseph Akandwanaho (midfielder).

Kasozi left KCCA FC for Kyetume FC in 2020 after falling out with his former boss Mike Mutebi who described him as one of the few players in the country with good ball sense.

Mutebi on signing Kasozi, hailed: “I highly rate Kasozi, he is one of those few players with good ball sense. He was unfortunate to get injured twice in the season. He has adhered to the rehabilitation plan and is now fit to play. Let’s see what he has got.”

The midfielder who won the league with KCCA FC in 2018, will join Wasswa Bossa’s experienced outfit to strength the midfield area where the club have been short on depth.

Express FC have struggled for possession in an area where Kasozi brilliant will come in hand. The club in their recent loss to Jinja outfit Bul FC were visibly outplayed at the heart of the midfield limiting chances for their hot front line of Eric Kambale, Martin Kizza and George Senkaaba.

The arrival of Kasozi will be good news to his former team mate at KCCA FC Muzamilu Mutyaba who has been at the heart of the club’s creative spark. The former Kyetume midfielder will bring out the very best of Mutyaba with his calm and intelligent style of play.

Kasozi’s signing should help Bossa allow John Byamukama some rest as he has had to play the lion’s share of the club’s games in a season they played in the UPL and CECAFA Club Championships.
