Bobosi box to box king.

Bobosi Byaruhanga was voted the Uganda Cup midfield player of the tournament which his club won last weekend.

At only 19 years old, Bobosi is the boy from Kisoro running the midfield for both his Kitende based side Vipers SC and the national team, the Cranes.

Bobosi has been a consistent figure at the heart of Vipers SC set up for the last two years, despite the several ins and outs at the club’s technical bench.

The player who came through the ranks of Vipers SC academy, St. Mary’s School was part of the Kobs’ team that defied odds under Morley Byekwaso to reach the finals of the Afcon under 20 tournament.

The player is blessed with height, an eye for a pass and box to box displays that make him a darling of any coach that has got him in his set up.

His mature displays for Vipers SC which has a rich midfield have seen him move the ladders at the national level to the Cranes which is battling qualification for the World Cup.

With most Cranes stars either nursing injuries and some with dip in their forms for their clubs, Bobosi looks to have a big chance to impress the Cranes Serbian coach Milutin Sredojević.

The player has attributed his exposures at his club and the national youth sides to the improvement in his game. In an interview with club website, he explained. “I have learnt a lot of things in the previous games I have been playing, at National team plus the U20 team. I have made a lot of research on different players, telling me different stories.

Bobosi also hails his calm nature and religious grounds to the steady performances he has had in the last two years.

He narrated: “I have also listened to my fellow players like former Cranes Captain Denis Onyango, telling me to stay disciplined, prayerful, being humble, giving respect to coaches as well as my fellow colleagues.”

Having finished his studies, he believes, he has been relieved to take on his football to the next level. He explained: “What I can say is that last season was so busy, playing for the club and also studying. But now I finished school and now concentrated at my club and working hard. That is why I am scoring goals and helping my club now to defend the championship.”

With the arrival of Bright Anukani at the club who equally has intelligent attributes to his style of play, Bobosi will look at a bright season ahead of him.

He also has at his disposal the Brazilian Olivieira Roberto who should be able to lift his game and may be achieve his dream of playing in the paid ranks in Europe.

The sky is the limit for the man from Kisoro where football composes a little of the population’s day to day occupation.
