Vipers’ new signings

The football transfer season is sometimes referred to as a silly season, where it starts with rumors and then later it gets into reality though sometimes deals fail to materialize. This time round, Vipers Sports Club has not been so much busy in recruiting players like it has been the norm.

There have been only two players coming in and several of them taking the exit door at Vipers in this upcoming 2021/22 football season, with Bright Anukani and Jack Komakech being the only additions at the club.

The Venoms have signed two players in the concluded transfer window, with Bright Anukani and Jack Komakech as the new recruits at the St Mary’s Stadium ahead of the upcoming new season.

There has also been some promotions of youngsters who include Ivan Ashaba commonly known as ‘Di Maria’ and Mutwalib Mugolofa from Vipers SC Junior side.

But while there is excitement among Venoms supporters at the recent arrivals, there have also been a number of players saying bye bye to the club and others loaned out to get regular playing time.

Rashid Toha is among those, with the South Sudanese moving to newcomers Arua Hill Sports Club. Bashir Ssekagya also bid farewell to St Mary’s Stadium after more than two seasons with the club.

Shaban Muhammad also left after both parties agreed to separate mutually, joining Onduparaka FC following his release from the club and the prodigal son has been warmly welcomed in the Arua based club.

Meanwhile, Brian Kalumba made a temporary switch to Gaddafi FC. He was followed by midfielder Mpanga Sula to the Jinja based side on a season-long loan.
