Azawi’s ‘Slowing Dancing’ sweet ballad now contender for song of the year as banger hits 1M views in 2 months
Swangz Avenue signed singer Priscilla Zawedde popularly known as Azawi is slowing positioning herself as one of the go to female musicians in the Ugandan music industry.
Having released her well crafted African music album about two weeks ago, the slim and tom boyish musician saw her stakes rise even further after getting signed to the YouTube black music class of 2021.
The massive deal saw her face & the ‘My Year’ music video appear at the New York time square billboard.
The Time Square being one of the few places in the world with an insurmountable amount of traffic & real time human eye ball, Azawi’s Slow Dancing music video became the biggest beneficiary as it quickly rained over 200,000 views in 2 weeks enabling it hit the one million mark in just two month from the time of it’s release.
Having appeared on the New York Time Square, Azawi became the 3rd Ugandan to grace the big screens after singers Eddy Kenzo and Bobi Wine.
While appearing on Galaxy FM’S twitter spaces last week, Azawi explained that her ultimate goal having dropped the album will be to conquer the not just the local market but capture the international audience as well.
The billboard feature therefore just went to show the world how determined she is to go on and achieve her dreams
