Misagga to rally behind

Former SC Villa Vice President as well as the City Oil proprietor hajji Omar Mandela has announced that he will stand for the club’s presidency in the upcoming elections coming soon this month.

Villa is set to hold Executive Elections on Saturday, November 13 as agreed upon in the Extra-ordinary meeting held on October 23 at Serena Hotel in Kigo.

With picking of the nomination forms now official opened, Mandela has expressed his intentions to run for Villa’s Presidency. Forms are expected to be returned on November 6th.

The vetting process will be conducted by the board of Trustees and the final candidates are to be announced on 8th November.

Isaac Walukagga will be the chairman of the Electoral Committee assisted by Father Lawrence Kimbowa whereas Adong Sarah and Ssekidde Kavuma are the committee members.

Mandela who was Vice President of the sixteen-time record Uganda Premier League winners, announced his intentions at a press briefing held at City Oil in Kamwokya on Wednesday, November 03.

“I am here to announce that, I will be standing for Villa Presidency in the forthcoming elections.” The soft-spoken Mandela announced.

The Business tycoon also confirmed the team that he will be working with to insure Villa returns to the top.

The team features Daniek Bakaki, former Villa President Eng. Immanuel Ben Misagga, Daniel Bakaki and Muhamadi Bazirengedde.

It is understood that Bakaki who had recently expressed intentions to run for the same office, decided to team-up with Mandela to ensure Villa is a powerhouse once again.

“I know this may come as a surprise to many after I have been on different platforms informing the public that I will be running for the Villa Presidency. Bakaki told the media.

“However, after consultations, I have decided to join Mandela so that we can all team-up and make Villa stronger again.”

Mandela and his team are expected to pick nomination forms on Wednesday ahead of the November 13 elections.
