The Flying Squad police team in Kampala has busted a man working with Raider’s washing bay in Nyanama for running off with USD 90,000 (about 317 million Shillings) he stole from a client.
The suspected thief Emmanuel Tumusiime disappeared five days ago with the huge sum of money that was picked from a Scania Trailer owned by one David Bigirwa, a business man dealing in cosmetics. Tumusiime, was told to wash the trailer, that contained the money but vanished into thin air shortly after.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga says Bigirwa informed police in Katwe after he realized that the suspect had runaway with his money. He says the Flying Squad police immediately launched a hunt that led to the subsequent arrest of Tumusimme .
Enanga says after a search, the Flying Squad captured the suspect and has so far recovered USD 27,700 (about 96.6 million Shillings, together with the 97.8 million Shillings.
“Bigirwa had taken his vehicle for washing and one of the boys Tumusiime who was washing the Trailer landed on this money to the tune of USD 90,000 meant for purchasing cosmetics. Our Flying Squad managed to trace for him and then recovered the money,” Enanga said.
