Parents were negligent
The police in Kabalagala have recovered CCTV footage from Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Ggaba showing how a two year old baby girl drowned in a pond.
On Sunday March 27 at about 7 pm, the parents to deceased minor with the assistance from staff at the Speke Resort Munyonyo retrieved the body from a pond after hours of searching.
It is alleged that the couple Nabawesi Florence and the father only identified as Micheal gained access to the premises in the morning for a day out but all hell broke loose at Midday when the child mysteriously vanished into thin air.
In a fit of panic, the couple who were reportedly preoccupied at the time of the child’s disappearance immediately started hunting for their daughter in vain, prompting them to engage the authorities at the hotel in the hunt for the minor.
The child was reportedly rescued and given CPR by near first responders and later taken to Mulago Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police says the couple left the baby who could barely walk unattended to as they partied with other friends, leaving her to wonder off into the nearby shallow pond.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, the incident that was captured in the CCTV footage recovered from the premises pins the parents to acts of negligence
“Investigations into the incident are on and currently, it has been ascertained that there was some Negligence exhibited by the parents.Parents are urged to always keep a close eye on their children while moving into new environments. Investigations are ongoing and more communication will be done at an opportune time.“Owoyesigyire says
