The Uganda Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga has nothing but praise to the person of the President for recognizing his brilliant service in the force.

Enanga was awarded with a golden jubilee medal for his exceptional and outstanding contribution to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) government during Heroe’s day celebrations at Kololo ceremonial grounds. 

Now at the level of Commissioner of Police CP, Enanga has served police in various capacities since he joined the force 21 years ago in 2001. He started working as a Cadet officer at the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, before rising through the ranks.

He has headed the economic crimes department and worked as a CID commander KMP, commander land protection police unit, Commander CID administration and training, among others.

He has also aided in criminal investigations, including large scale corporate fraud of about Shs12 billion and procurement fraud.

The medal today signified his courage, patience and hardwork even under very trying circumstances. He was honored for his resilience and hard work as an operation’s officer and Advisor at the united nations mission in Darfur in 2009 in addition to significant working skill as the Police Spokesperson.

“As the current Uganda Police Force publicist, his acts of courage , patience, determination and compassion have helped create a tangible positive impact on the Uganda police for continued success. Even under very trying circumstances, he dutifully employed his communication skills to manage crisis in the face of overwhelming criticism,” the statement read

In his response Enanga thanked the President for the great motivation and appreciation towards his work.

“I thank the President for endorsing and decorating me with this medal. It is a motivation, trust and appreciation for the work I do as a police officer. I am happy that after over 21 years of service. This is the second medal from the government, three others were received from peace keeping missions,” Enanga said.

A total of 17 police were today awarded medals during the Heroes day Celebrations.

This year’s Heroes’ Day was held under the theme; “Commemorating our Heroes and Heroines: An opportunity to consolidate our efforts in securing Uganda.”

The Guest of Honour at this year’s celebration was Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja who represented President Museveni.

34 golden jubilee medals, 17 Nalubaale , 2 long service silver police medals,18 Luweero triangle medal and 2 honorary medals would be dished out to 81 celebrated citizens.
