Police in Kangulumira,Kayunga district are investigating circumstances under-which two watchmen were murdered.

The deceased, identified as Asiku Bioja and Ondoma Ali bled to death after sustaining deep cuts to their heads.

Ssezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson told our reporter Minah Nalule that the incident happened on Thursday night and the assailants have since disappeared with two motorcycles Reg. numbers UEX 733D and UFF 616L all Bajaj boxers.

He says the bodies of the deceased taken to the mortuary as police carries out investigations into the incident.

Similarly, Police in in Kyankwanzi District is holding a horny security guard accused of raping and robing another man’s wife.

The suspect is Emmanuel Akol, a guard attached to Corporate Security Services attacked one Paul Nteziyaremwa and his wife while on their way back from Kilyanongo Trading Center, Bukomero Village in Ntunda Town Council.

The reportedly drunken couple was returning home from the bar when they were attacked at night on June 22, 2022, close to Premier Distillers factory and sugar cane plantation where the suspect was guarding. It is alleged that Akol was holding a rifle with ammunition that he fired in the air to scare his victims before pouncing on the woman.

Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Region Police Spokesperson, says Akol fired once in the air and ordered the couple to sit down before robbing them of their mobile phones and an unspecified amount of money.

She adds that told Nteziyaremwa to run away immediately and leave the wife, a command he quickly adhered to by running very fast to the road. He then directed the wife to run in the opposite direction towards the sugarcane plantation.

Police says Akol followed the woman at gunpoint until the plantation where he raped her mercilessly.

The 2021 police crime report shows that 1,486 incidents of rape were reported compared to  1 ,519 cases reported in  2020, showing a decrease of 2.1%. A total of 1,396 adult female and  90 famele juvenile were victims of rape.
