Ofwono Opondo nearly grabs city mayor Lukwago by the neck live on TV set as NRM mouth piece threatens opposition figure head out of studio
What started as a peaceful debate on NBS frontline, a famous weekly political show that happens every Thursday on NBS Television quickly turned into an uncontrollable argument between City lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and government Spokesperson Ofwono Opondo.
Blows were nearly exchanged after Ofwono Opondo, a senior government spokesman failed to control his anger live on local television.
From the clips circulating on social media, Ofwono and Lukwago are seen embroiled in an argument of whether or not the NRM engaged activities of ballot stuffing and arresting opposition supporters in the just concluded Soroti by-election.
After a series of counter arguments, Ofwono is seen telling Lukwago to shut up or else risk being thrown out of the NBS TV studios.
“Shut up, shut up. You’re the lawyer, tell me which provision of the Constitution of the electoral law supports your argument. You can shout and we push you out of here,” Ofwono, who gets up from his seat, is seen telling off Lukwago.
