Charles Olim, also known as Sipapa, has been arrested.

Sipapa was declared on Police wanted list yesterday, after intelligence liked him to a robbery of US$ 429, 000 at the home of Jacob Arok, a South Sudan National in Bunga between August 28, 2022 and August, 29, 2022.

Speaking to the media in Kampala Monday, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said a group of unnamed robbers stormed Arok’s home, stolen cash in US$ currency, gold jewelry, flat television screen, Iphones and computers among others. The matter was then reported to Kabalagala Police Station for a probe.

The items were recovered at Sipapa’s home in Buwate after an iCloud signal from one of the stolen iPhones was switched on. His wife, Shamirah and three others were arrested for attempting to shield suspected stolen materials during a Police search. Sipapa was in Tororo at the time and missed the arrest.

However, we have just learnt that Sipapa has been arrested.

“We wish o inform the public that the Directorate of Crime Intelligence has arrested a one Olim Sipapa who was on the police wanted list for an alleged aggravated robbery which occurred at the home of Jacob Arok in Bunga on the night of August 28, 2022. Arrangements are now going on to hand him over to the CID task team at Kampala Metropolitan for further interview,” Enanga confirmed Sipapa’s arrest Tuesday.

This now brings the number of those arrested in relation to the case to five.
