Netherlands to continue momentum

All of the major European leagues have been put on hold this week as the UEFA Nations League action returns with Poland playing host to Netherlands in this League A/Group 4 clash at the Stadion Narodowy.

The hosts look to make up lost ground, while the Dutch will be keen to extend their lead at the top of the group with a win here.

Poland sit in 3rd place in this four-nation group that comprises of Netherlands, Belgium and bottom placed Wales but the Poles haven’t done themselves any favors in recent times.

They have slipped to home and away defeats to the Belgians, losing 6-1 away from home and then being handed a 1-0 defeat by the Red Devils last time out on home soil.

A 2-1 home win against Wales saw Poland begin this new Nations League campaign in positive fashion. The hosts have added just one further point to their tally with a creditable 2-2 draw away from home against Thursday’s visitors, Netherlands.

Poland have won just four of their last 10 home games overall and just two of their last seven at home in the Nations League.

Netherlands to continue momentum

Netherlands sit top of Group 4 by a three-point margin over 2nd placed Belgium heading into matchday 5 of this competition as the visitors still remain unbeaten after the opening four games of the group phase.

Wins against Belgium 4-1 and Wales 2-1, both of which were away from home, handed the Dutch the prefect start to this new Nations League campaign and together with a 2-2 draw at home with Poland and then recording another win over Wales with a 3-2 victory on home soil, Netherlands look to be in the box seat to progress to the final stages of the competition this season.
