Chelsea need a win

We have several fixtures to look forward to in English Premier League on the 1st of October, including the London Derby between Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

The match will be played at Selhurst Park and the hosts begin the weekend in 16th place on 6 points while the visitors are in 7th place on 10 points.

Crystal Palace come into the game on the back of a 0-0 draw away to Newcastle United at the beginning of September. Newcastle United had the better of the match but Crystal Palace were happy to come away with a point and clean sheet.

That result means Crystal Palace have failed to win any of their 3 most recent fixtures in the Premier League.

There have been two successive draws, the one at Newcastle United and one at home thanks to a 1-1 draw with Brentford. Crystal Palace also lost 4-2 at Manchester City having been 2-0 up at half time.

The Eagles have recorded only 1 win in the Premier League this season and that came at home against Aston Villa. Trends show Crystal Palace are undefeated in 10 of their last 11 home games in all competitions.

Chelsea make the short trip to Selhurst Park having last played at home against Salzburg in the Champions League. It was the first match for new manager Graham Potter and he would have been hoping to defeat the Austrian team, especially having taken the lead shortly after half time.

That result means Chelsea have recorded only one win from their four most recent fixtures in all competitions.

The win came over West Ham United at home in the Premier League but there have been defeats away to Southampton in the Premier League and away to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Chelsea need a win

Away form in the Premier League shows Chelsea have won two of their last six games. The wins have come at Leeds United and Everton but there have been defeats this season at Leeds United and Southampton.

Team news and Crystal Palace are expected to be without injured midfielder James McArthur. There are also doubts over the fitness of Nathan Ferguson, James Tomkins, and Jack Butland.

Chelsea could be without the injured trio of Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy, and N’Golo Kante but all three are close to a return.
