The Kampala Woman Member of Parliament Shamim Malende has been battling an unknown illness for close to two weeks now.
The ailing MP was first admitted to Uganda Martyrs Hospital in Rubaga Division, Kampala, after she suffered a seizure at her residence in Kawempe on November 13, 2022. Following that, she was placed on oxygen at the facility until her condition worsened, prompting her transfer to the Aghakhan hospital in Nairobi over the weekend.

According to Malende’s husband Salim Sebunya, she was airlifted to Kenya on Sunday morning at 11:00 am after loosing consciousness.
