Croatia set to record

Morocco and Croatia clash in their opening match of Group F of the World Cup. Walid Regragui’s team were impressive in qualifying, as they won all their group games before recording a 5-2 aggregate victory over Congo in the third round.

Since making their debut in the World Cup in 1970, Morocco has featured in five further tournaments. The furthest Morocco has ever got at a World Cup was in 1986 in Mexico, as they made it to the last 16 of the competition.  The last World Cup was the first time Morocco had featured in the competition for two decades.

Morocco head into Qatar 2022 in good form, as they are unbeaten in five international matches, having recorded four wins.

That good run of form includes keeping four straight clean sheets while also scoring at least twice in three of their last four outings.

Zlatko Dalic’s team won their qualifying group ahead of second-place Russia by just one point. They won seven of their ten qualifiers while remaining unbeaten in their last nine games. Croatia also scored at least two goals in four of their last five qualifiers.

Croatia set to record

They not only impressed in qualifiers but also in their recent outings too, as Croatia are unbeaten in six international matches, having recorded five wins in the process.

Croatia made the final of the 2018 World Cup, only to suffer a defeat against France in the final. The tournament saw the Balkan nation progress the furthest that they have since independence in 1991.
