Prisons’ officers guarding the hospital room where jailed National Unity Platform (NUP), Allan Ssewanyana is admitted on Monday morning bounced the party’s principal and his team from visiting him.

Ssewanyana was on Sunday morning transferred from Luzira Prison to Mulago National Referral hospital in what his lawyer has described as a critical state.

However, his boss Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine decided to pay him a visit.

Bobi Wine was in the company of the party’s spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, and Secretary General David Rubongoya.

They moved to the six floor where a security officer was guarding and were denied entry and told to seek permission from the prison authorities.

The officer stated that the NUP MP is under the watch and guardianship of Uganda Prisons at the moment.

Ssewanyana’s Lawyer Erias Lukwago who has access to the MP says his condition is critical.

The MP was arrested and detained in September 2021 on charges of murder, attempted murder and terrorism. He was arrested alongside Kawempe North MP Ssegirinya Muhammed.
