Douglas Lwanga responds to claims his Purple Party Dubai flopped like Katumba Oyee’s shot at Presidency

Celebrated TV star Douglas Lwanga has responded to claims that his inaugural purple party in Dubai flopped like Katumba Oyee’s shot at the presidency.

It should be remembered that a fortnight ago, Douglas and his crew at NBS Television boarded the much cherished Uganda Airlines to go and attend the long awaited purple party that had been organized by a Ugandan promoter based in Dubai.

Douglas, who is the registered owner of the name purple party sold the event to a Ugandan promoter based in Dubai but had an obligation to show up since the event is tied to his name.

After the event had gone down on 5th of March, rumors began filtering through with many claiming the event was a total flop.

The noise was made even more louder after Douglas posted pictures without showing the crowd but instead focused on the stage and performers.

On hearing the wild held claims about the event, Douglas came up saying you need to have over 5000 people to make money out of an event in Dubai.

“The dynamics are different for both Uganda and Dubai. Where here, you need over 5000 people for an event to be a success, in Dubai you may need only 500 people to make money. For those saying the event flopped are saying it out of ignorance” Douglas said while answering claims about the purple party flopping.
