Police hunt unknown thugs for raiding and stealing from city church

Police in Kampala are hunting unknown thugs for raiding a top city church and running off with various items worth 20 million shillings.

The unidentified goons stormed the church premises on Plot 21 Lumumba Avenue in the dead of the night through a wall tent at the back.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, identifies the affected church as Living Word Assembly located in the city center.

He explains that the incident happened at 2:00 am when the unknown thieves broke into the church vanishing with five laptops, a CPU, a floodlight mixer and TV Screen all valued at approximately shs20 million.

He says police detectives have since visited the crime scene and retrieved CCTV camera footage to aid in investigations.

This incident follows a similar robbery at Nswenjere Junior Seminary in Mpigi district where thugs stole  property from the chapel.

The unidentified goons gained entry into the seminary by cutting barbed wires and proceeded to rob the school of various items including a TV, mobile phones, cash, a laptop, and the church tabernacle.

They also beat and injured the seminary vice rector, Fr. Godfrey Kyeyune and Fr. Emmanuel Mukukule.
