SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to a classic Serie A rivalry, as Juventus welcome AC Milan to the Allianz Stadium in Turin on the evening of Sunday 28 May 2023.

DStv and GOtv is the only true home of football in Africa, offering a range and depth of action that no other rival can match – it’s literally ‘Unbeatable Football’! If you’re going to spend your money on something, it may as well be on the best football in the world.

European qualification is at stake for both teams, with the Bianconeri looking to avenge a 2-0 defeat suffered at the hands of the Rossoneri earlier this season.

“With the end of the season now so close, we must make a final push for the finish line and ensure we achieve the goals we have set in recent weeks,” said Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri. “We cannot assume anything, in terms of our results and what will happen with the points penalty, so we must focus on getting good results.”

Milan manager Stefano Pioli, meanwhile, has urged his team to strive for their best right to the bitter end: “It has been a long season, a more difficult one because of our European involvement, but also an exciting one. We need to find the strength to play with even more conviction and belief.”

Key players

Filip Kostic – The Serbian winger has been one of the unsung heroes of Juve’s season, putting consistently excellent performances throughout. He will hope to keep up his form when Milan visit Turin for this blockbuster clash.

Rafael Leao – The Portuguese attacker gives Milan a cutting edge that few other teams in Italy can match. Leao’s pace and directness will be a major driving force for the Rossoneri as they chase three points away to Juve.

Head-to-head stats

In head-to-head stats, Juventus and Milan have met in 73 matches across all competitions since 1993. The Bianconeri have claimed 35 wins compared to 20 for the Rossoneri, while 18 games have been drawn.

When the teams met in Serie A earlier this season, at San Siro in October 2022, Milan claimed a 2-0 home win thanks to goals from Fikayo Tomori and Brahim Diaz.

Battles to watch

Massimiliano Allegri v Stefano Pioli – Allegri will look to venture away from his usual conservatism to secure a home victory, with Pioli hoping his team can counter and attack any defensive gaps left by the hosts.

Adrien Rabiot v Ismael Bennacer – A classic midfield battle between two energetic players, Rabiot and Bennacer are dynamic performers who can affect the game massively in both offensive and defensive phases.

Gleison Bremer v Olivier Giroud – The Brazilian defender is one of the cornerstones of Juve’s team and he will be tasked with keeping a lid on the attacking talents of Giroud, who remains a potent threat in terms of goals and assists despite being in the twilight of his career.
