FC Cincinnati coach Pat Noonan believes his side is capable of achieving something special in the 2023 MLS season: “Regardless of the opponent, it adds to the fans’ expectations and belief that our team is going to be ready to win games in front of them,” said the former striker.
The thrills and spills from the MLS continue on Sunday evening with LA Galaxy playing away to St Louis City (19:00 LIVE on ESPN), while the morning of Monday 12 June brings another clash pitting the Portland Timbers against FC Dallas (04:00 LIVE on ESPN).

The first live action on ESPN 2 arrives on the morning of Friday 9 June, as the Canberra Raiders battle the New Zealand Warriors in the National Rugby League (NRL) (10:00 LIVE on ESPN 2). There’s more NRL action on the morning of Saturday 10 June, as the Sydney Roosters play host to the Penrith Panthers (11:35 LIVE on ESPN 2).
The morning of Sunday 11 June features another NRL clash, as the Melbourne Storm face the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks (08:05 LIVE on ESPN 2), before a switch of focus to Major League Baseball (MLB) in the evening, with the Baltimore Orioles playing the Kansas City Royals (19:35 LIVE on ESPN 2), followed by the San Francisco Giants taking on the Chicago Cubs (22:05 LIVE on ESPN 2).
Giants general manager Gabe Kapler acknowledges that dealing with frustrated players has its downsides: “In my experience over the years seeing lots of big league players, when players are not getting all the opportunities that they want and they’re not performing, generally speaking, they’re not overjoyed about their situation.
“I’ve just seen that pretty consistently over the years. On the flip side, when a player is in the lineup regularly, having a lot of opportunity and having success, you almost always see a really content player.”
Every weekday afternoon from Monday 12 to Thursday 15 June brings ‘SportsCenter US’ (16:30 on ESPN), which takes a closer look at all the news, controversy and gossip in the top American sports of the day, as well as ‘NHL On The Fly’ (17:10 on ESPN), which provides comprehensive coverage of the National Hockey League action slicing up the ice rinks.
