A woman in Kassaga Village, Nakaseke District, has been arrested on suspicion of killing her 60 year old witch doctor husband.
The suspect Nalukwago Esther was taken into custody to assist police in facilitating an investigation into the sudden demise of her hubby Kalemera John Bosco who was harshly chopped with a panga by an unidentified assailant on the matrimonial bed the couple shares.
Kalemera was mercilessly butchered on March 10th, 2024, at approximately 9:00 PM, while allegedly sleeping with his wife , next to him. Shockingly, as the assault took place, Nalukwago was unaware and only awoke to ugly scenes of blood and deep cuts on Kalemera’s body.
ASP Twiineamazima Sam, spokesperson for the Savanah region police says Kalemera John Bosco was brutally hit with a panga by an unidentified person and traces of water mixed with blood were discovered in a basin at the scene, suggesting an attempt by the assailant to cleanse themselves or the weapon used in the commission of the crime.
Twiineamazima reveals that scenes of Crime Officers managed to gather some evidence and recorded statements from pertinent witnesses, including the village chairman, to aid in the ongoing investigation.
He says Kalemera ‘s wife, Nalukwago remains detained at Nakaseke Police Station, while the body of the deceased was conveyed to Nakaseke Hospital for a comprehensive postmortem examination.
ASP Twiineamazima further says motive behind the violent homicide remains undetermined.
