Eddy Kenzo has retracted his earlier statement about stepping down from his role as honcho of the Musicians Federation, saying his issues have been resolved and he is ready to continue serving.

Speaking during an interview with Galaxy TV, the Big Talent boss revealed that after his outburst, he was flooded with calls from fellow federation members and higher authorities, urging him not to resign.

“I talked with members in an online meeting, and they told me not to resign. They told me first to wait before I make the decision. I also received calls from the higher powers that govern us, and they asked me to wait, promising that everything would be alright,” Kenzo explained.
“They have helped to handle it, and all is well now. We are good; I’m still here, and we are going to work.”

The singer’s remarks come just a day after a leaked audio clip surfaced online, sending social media into a frenzy. In the clip, Kenzo expressed frustration and declared that he was ready to quit his leadership position due to internal confusion and alleged interference within the federation.

Kenzo had accused the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development of “playing politics” in the federation, claiming it had withheld funds and attempted to alter the agreed-upon distribution plan.

Addressing the leak, the Sitya Loss hitmaker said the audio was originally part of a private conversation with his inner circle at UNMF, but one of the members betrayed his trust.

“It is good the voice note leaked because now I know we have rats in the circle,” Kenzo said. “I was trying to address the members, but as you know, it is a group of many people, we always have traitors and people who are not straight.”

With tensions seemingly eased, Kenzo now says he is focused on continuing his duties as UNMF president and advancing the federation’s mission to empower Ugandan musicians.
