Crocodile Swallows Man Alive
Locals in the Kiryadongo district are still trying to wrap their hands around circumstances surrounding the death of a 35yr old man who went fishing.
Scattered body parts of the deceased Simon Okumu, have been obtained from River Nile where he disappeared on Saturday.
Okumu a resident of Okwece Village in Karuma Town Council and a fisherman often worked on the Nile river,10 kilometers south of the Town Council.
Joseph Oryem, the Karuma Town Council Local Council says a hunt was launched for the deceased by Uganda Wildlife Authority-UWA officials on Sunday afternoon but only a few body parts were recovered.

Oryem says they suspect he could have been eaten by a crocodile.
“We only found his head and part of his chest and with footmarks of a crocodile around,” said Oryem.
7 people, mostly hunters, and fishermen have died in the area have been reportedly swallowed by crocodiles within a period of 4 months.
A week ago, a former primary school teacher in the area identified as Boniface Opota went missing on River Nile after he had also reportedly gone fishing.
The Kiryandongo Resident District Commissioner Paul Peter Debele has however advised the locals to desist from illegal hunting in the River and the National Park.
