Dancehall star Ziza Bafana has jumped headfirst into Uganda’s hottest music feud, shutting down comparisons between veteran legend Jose Chameleone and controversial new-wave star Alien Skin.
Speaking in a Galaxy TV interview that has since been widely shared, Ziza declared the two are “worlds apart” in talent, character, and style, stressing that there is “nothing in common among them.”
His comments come just as the Chameleone–Alien Skin clash continues to spiral beyond music into a full-blown industry storm.
The rift was first sparked after Chameleone publicly criticized Alien Skin’s music, dismissing its quality and refusing to recognize it as worthy of comparison to his decades-long career. That jab drew heated responses from Alien Skin’s camp, with social media videos showing the singer and his allies hitting back at Chameleone’s remarks. At one point, Chameleone himself was reported to have warned he would “discipline” those disrespecting him, a threat that only fueled the frenzy online.

Alien Skin, who has built his fame through street-influenced music and a rebellious persona, doubled down with taunts and replies, while some of his crew members posted defiant clips vowing not to let the Leone Island boss walk over them.
The exchanges have gone viral across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, turning what started as a cheeky trashing of a song into a drama dominating Uganda’s entertainment scene. Even other musicians have been pulled into the mess, with some like Fik Gaza attempting to distance themselves from the escalating tension.
Ziza Bafana’s intervention may have been intended to calm the waters, but in true tabloid fashion, it only added more fuel to the fire. By stressing that Chameleone’s international legacy and Alien Skin’s street reign cannot be compared, Ziza has ensured the debate will rage on. Fans remain fiercely divided: one camp defending the Leone Island legend’s dominance, the other hailing Alien Skin as the unfiltered voice of the streets.
Meanwhile, Alien seems to have bowed down to pressure;
