Mid last week the Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga came out and handed her voice on to a number of people who want to see singer Eddy Kenzo returned hiome as soon as possible

The singer just like many Ugandans abroad is stuck in Ivory coast where he had gone to perform in the month of March

The presidential directive issued 3 months ago to have all inbound and out bound flights canceled meant that Kenzo could no longer come back to his country

Feeling sorry and touched by his story, the speaker of Parliament offered to support Kenzo’s efforts to return home by writing to the Ministry of foreign affairs to offer him with consular services In Abuja. In simple terms the speaker wanted the Ministry of foreign affairs to expedite Kenzo’s return.

Perhaps after reading through Kadaga’s emotional request, the Ministry instead responded by offering to help every Ugandan stuck abroad and not just Kenzo

A statement from the Ministry indicated that first priority will be given to Ugandans in Europe, America, Asia and other parts highly affected by Covid-19 leaving Kenzo in deep hole since he wanted to come first

”the first batch of Ugandans to return home will be from Europe, the Americas and Asia among other regions that have been greatly affected by the Covid-19” a statement read

On seeing the Ministry’s not so favorable response Kenzo quickly went on social media and lamented about how he genuinely misses home but he will stay in Ivory coast if it’s indeed God’s will

”Amazima gali nti I miss home era njagala komawo, Naye waliwo ensonga lwaki nkyaali eno! Nze nkimanyi mukama tagera kibi osanga ayina byamponya.Kangira mbera eno, mpaka mukama lwalisalawo nti nkomewo’‘ kenzo posted on Facebook
