Ministry of health has on Monday morning confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of infections in Uganda to 212.
The new cases are part of 1,739 samples that were tested on Sunday.
All the new cases are Ugandan contacts of truck drivers who and have been under quarantine by the time they were tested.
Also over 1500 people are under quarantine at 150 sites in the Northern part of the country.
The Ministry of Health says 5 Tanzanian truck drivers who tested positive for the virus were repatriated to Tanzania on Sunday.
President Yoweri Museveni last week may 19th announced measures to ease the lockdown starting this week, with private vehicles to be allowed on the road on TuesdayMay 26.
The vehicles will move on the condition that only 3 people occupy and must have standard face masks.
Also a number of businesses to open after two months of lockdown include Shops, hotels, and restaurants that will resume operations from May 26 in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
The public including all children aged 6yrs and above will be issued face masks that must be worn when in open spaces before public transport is permitted to resume at half capacity on June 4.
