Farouk Miya continues to feature in the Cranes teams with questionable displays.

Gone are those days when Farouk Miya took opponents in his arms and finished the job by himself.

The Konyaspor forward is struggling for game time with his club and whether or not that has contributed to his displays for the nation remains a mystery.

Farouk Miya has an impressive scoring record for the nation with 19 goals in 56 outings.

However, in his 7 outings for the Cranes in 2019, he scored only one goal and has had a drought since then.

Club struggles

Farouk Miya in his last four games, has only had 4 minutes of game time, coming on as a sub against Kasimpasa where he came on in the 86th minute.

He had no show against Alanyaspor, Fernabahce and Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Cranes playmaker has failed to hit the back of the net for his club in 24 appearances he has made for his Turkish club this season.

So worrying to his confidence and a nation that has had their thoughts largely rested on his creative abilities.

This comes at the back of last season where he had a near exciting performance where he notched 8 goals in 40 appearances.

This is in contrast to the young Miya with blistering energy that walking straight into Bobby Williamson’s star studied team.

Mubiru’s headache

Will Abdallah Mubiru continue to bank his hopes on a Miya whose performances for the nation have equally been dodgy?

Miya had three free kick opportunities for his nation against Burkina Faso’s Stallions. His attempts were utterly disappointing.

Allan Okello

The Cranes have Allan Okello as a suitable option for Miya in that creative position.

Allan Okello’s situation at Paradou AC isn’t compelling enough to have him in a position he will have so much attention focused on him.

He did a lot for his former club KCCA FC at the continental level but the stats with his new journey do not help his confidence.

Allan Okello has only had 2 competitive league games to his name. They have not been meaningful to his cause.

However, Mubiru in a game where Miya struggled for the better part of the show, would consider the young playmaker to provide options for his team.

Okello has set piece abilities which can make him an asset to the Cranes in case they come up.

Mubiru can still have the pair feature by having the Paradou AC attacker played on the right flank and Orit Ibrahim on the left.

The Cranes need goals against Malawi and it is possible with an assemblage of a team with those abilities.
