Judith Nabakooba

President Yoweri Museveni says he believes that the appointment of Mityana Woman MP, Judith Nabakooba as Minister of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development was a good decision.

Museveni on Tuesday released a list of 80 cabinet ministers in which he dropped Beti Olive Kamya for Nabakooba as Lands Minister.

Beti Kamya was meanwhile appointed a Senior presidential Advisor on land matters.

Speaking at the 32nd Heroes Day Anniversary ceremony at Kololo Independence Grounds Museveni considering the history of land grabbing in Mityana where Nabakooba hails from,, he believes she has the experience to do a fantastic job.

“Regarding the Land Fund and strictness in the land law…that is why, if you see in the new government, I proposed the name of Hon. Judith Nabakooba because that girl was fighting land grabbers in Mityana,I know she will do a good job there ” Museveni said.

Sevo Heaps Praise On Nabakooba

Nabakooba lost as Mityana Woman MP in the 2021 polls to the opposition National Unity Platform- NUP candidate Joyce Bagala. She previously served as a Minister of Information, Communication since her appointment in December 2019.

Nabaakoba has also served in the Uganda Police Force as Police Spokesperson from 2011 until 2015.

She also served as Secretary to Exodus Saving and Credit Cooperative Society.

In Decembe
r 2019, she was appointed as Minister of ICT replacing Frank Tumwebaze who had been transferred to the Ministry of Gender.
