UPDF Deputy Spokesperson Col Deo Akiiki in a presser at the police head office in Naguru indicated that it has been done for their own protection.

Akiiiki says Bobi’s wine has been given security based on his high status for his own good, however, clarifies that Wine is not under arrest and is expected at the president’s swearing-in.

“We can not have the same security deployment for people of high status and those of low status. The deployment at Bobi Wine’s residence is for his own good. We accord security based on the weight of a person. He is a distinguished Ugandan. His security can’t be as anybody else’s, But he was also invited. I saw the invitation,” Col Akiiki said.

This comes as President Museveni is expected to swear in for his next term on Wednesday, in a scientific ceremony that will be attended by only 4,042 people.
