Musana and KCCA FC

As players’ exodus continues at Lugogo-based club KCCA FC, another senior player has mutually agreed with the club to leave the Molly Byekwaso-coached side.

Hassan Musana, who joined KCCA FC from Bul fc in January 2018 and had his contract running until July 2022, has gone on to win a number of trophies as a Kasasiro Boy and has been donning on shirt number three ever since he joined.

Musana won a Uganda Cup (2018), Super 8 (2018), Uganda Premier League (2019), CECAFA Clubs Cup (2019). The defender was also part of the KCCA FC squad that played in the group stages of CAF Champions League in 2018.

Hassan Musana joins Joseph Kafumbe, Juma Balinya, Moses Aliro and Samuel Kato who also agreed to mutually terminate their contracts while Moses Kalanzi, Keziron Kizito, Bright Anukani and Filbert Obenchan run down their contracts. Steven Sserwadda, Charles Lukwago and Hassan Matovu have been sold to New York Red Bulls, St George (Ethiopia) and Soltilo Bright Stars FC respectively.

The exchange or transfer of players in Uganda ended yesterday (September 21, 2021) and Musana being a free agent can join another club of his choice and exercise his talent from there.

Changes at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo started happening since the departure of the club’s former headcoach Mike Hillary Mutebi on 29th March of this year together with some of the technical staff like Jackson Magera who was the club’s academy coach and he is now the assistant coach at sports club Villa.

Now that the new gaffer at the club Morley Byekwaso is the one incharge, he wants to build his own team right from technical where he has added former player Ssaka Mpima along other new players who include; Brian Majwega, Brian Kayanja, Geofrey Wasswa, Emmanuel Wasswa, Usama Arafati, Yassar Mugerwa, Innocent Wafula Esimu, Rogers Mato, Derrick Ochan and Benjamin Ochan.

Sources do link Hassan Musana to a number of clubs but most notably to his former team Bul fc which is coached by Alex Isabirye. Wakiso Giants and Bright Stars are other clubs interested in him.
