Uganda Child Cancer Foundation has been named as KCCA Football Club’s official warm up kit partner for the 2021/22 season.

UCCF is a Non-government organization that was founded mainly by the Uganda Cancer Institute Staff, parents of children with cancer, and other concerned individuals. It supports children and young persons suffering from cancer in Uganda by providing direct treatment and social support to those made vulnerable by limited sources. UCCF also advocates for cancer control and management.

The partnership is in line with KCCA FC’s strategic plan objectives and getting a Corporate Social Responsibility partner is one among many.

At the beginning of the 2020/21 season, KCCA FC championed #WearYourLocalJersey Campaign and pledged to channel 5% of the proceeds from jersey sales to a Corporate Social Responsibility activity.

KCCA FC players together with UCCF will champion awareness about the existence of cancer among children as well as screening during the 2021/22 season.

During the launch at Uganda Cancer Institute, the following officials had this to say;

“We are so happy for this initiative. Over 3000 children get cancer each year but only 700 receive treatment. We look forward to bridging the gap of more cancer survivors in children. We trust that our partnership with KCCA FC, one of the leading sports brands in Uganda will help us champion our mission” Dr. Geriga Fadhil–Assistant Head of Pediatrics, Uganda Cancer Institute.

“KCCA FC is proud to partner with UCCF for so many reasons. We want to inspire lives and we know every life matters. We want to become the vehicle of awareness about cancer. We hope that the number of children UCCF caters for can increase from 700 to over 1000. We shall be UCCF ambassadors and we hope this partnership can build very many partnerships in the future” Martin Ssekajja–Chairman, KCCA FC

KCCA FC will start donning warm up kits with UCCF at the front in November 2021
