Nu York falls out with Kenzo

The rate at which musicians signed under singer Eddy Kenzo‘s Big Talent label are breaking away is quite worrying.

Every few months, one or two members fall out with the multi-award winning star and subsequently desert him.

Artists like Gravity Omutujju, Big Eye, Tip Swizzy and dancer Ronnie Stamina were the first to abandon Kenzo in the past, leaving him with one option – to recruit new members. He did just that, which saw him sign the likes of Pia Pounds, Sewa Sewa and Nu York.

After a few years under Kenzo’s stewardship, Pia Pounds left the group in 2019. Pia blamed Kenzo for failing to promote her music. She also blamed Rema’s fans for ganging up against her with insults. At that time, it was alleged that Pia and Kenzo were mixing business with pleasure.

Come 2022, Sewa Sewa, who was vice president of the Big Talent label also traced the exit, and the latest is Nu York Da Styla.

Nu York deserts Kenzo

Nu York has been a strong pillar and a trusted fellow in the group, and always by Kenzo’s side.

He says his contract had expired and chose not to renew it.

“I will not talk on behalf of others, but I can only talk for myself. For my case, it was an expired contract. I decided not to sign another contract because I wanted to be independent,” Nu York said.

The pink-haired singer boasts songs like Kwata, Love Nigga, Nvimbe, Malala, Obakira, and Obadde Okimanyi.
