The suspects include Lukambwe’s widow, Julie Namwesi, Isma Ssemuto, Moses Mugerwa, Stephen Kasoozi, Amir Lutaalo, and Stephen Mulamuzi. The six are being held on charges of aggravated murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Enanga told our reporter Minah Nalule that the assailants are being pinned for murder because they left the deceased’s motorcycle registration number UEY931F at the crime scene and fled after the attack.

He says the Joint task team documented the scene and recovered a Nokia phone, 4 pieces of ropes used in the illegal road block, 2 pairs of gumboots, a trouser and white shorts.  Scientific evidence of fingerprints and DNA samples were also lifted from the scene.

“After the attack, the victim’s motorcycle was abandoned at the scene of the crime, which made people believe that it was a targeted incident. We’re processing them and anytime they will be arraigned in the courts of law,” Enanga said.
