Reports coming through confirm that singer Douglas Mayanja a.k.a Weasel Manizo, slept in the Police coolers after knocking a Boda Boda guy.
Apparently, the accident happened in Makindye, on Thursday, near the Military Barracks. It is said that Weasel Manizo, who was cruising his sparkling white Toyota Land Cruiser V8 – gifted to him by elder brother, Jose Chameleone – at breakneck speed, lost control and subsequently knocked a Boda Boda guy, who was straddling his Bajaj bike at the roadside as he waited to get paid by a passenger.
Speaking to the press, Major Steven Tumwesigye, the Spokesperson of Military Police in Kampala Metropolitan, explained that much as it was a minor road accident, Weasel’s Japanese-made machine hit the Boda guy off the road and he landed into a trench. Maj. Tumwesigye further stressed that the victim was only saved by the helmet, escaping with minor injuries. As a result, Weasel’s front car was shuttered, with the bumper and headlights nearly off.
Affande says that following the incident, the fully charged Boda Boda gang stormed the scene, wagging their fingers in anger, with the intention of lynching the dreadlocked Good Lyf ragamuffin but the cops from the Barracks swung into action to save the situation.
The singer’s Land Cruiser, which is valued at UGX 150M, was towed to Katwe Police Station. Sources say, Weasel spent the cold night in the coolers. Efforts to reach out for a comment from his family members have been futile by the time of writing.
