Fire guts Naguru parking yard

Police in Kampala have launched investigations into circumstances under which a mysterious fire gutted a parking yard at Naguru Go down in Naguru II Parish, Nakawa division, Kampala; destroying dozens of motorcycles and vehicles.

According to police, the fire that started at 03:30 pm in the afternoon swept through the parking yard leaving properties including 24 ROKA motorcycles, two tri-cycles, two vehicles registration number UBL 935G land cruiser and UAR 088T Alexin wreaks.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesman says the yard belongs to a proprietor only identified as Christine and has been under the supervision of one Swaib Magala. He says police fire and rescue services swung into action and managed to put out the fire before it would spread to other vehicles.

“Police responded with two fire brigade trucks and rescued some vehicles from getting burnt.” said Onyango

He further explains that the fire started from a tiny grass thatched house where the other Boda Boda park under.
