Exclusive tour inside billionaire Hamis Kiggundu’s glass built Mansion

Hamis Kigundi is a 37-year-old renowned real estate mogul and one of Uganda’s top ten young billionaires, who made his fortune in real estate. Could the Ugandan real estate mogul Hamis Kiggundu be the owner of the largest house in Uganda?

Hamis Kiggundu is the owner of what may be Uganda’s single largest house. On five acres on the shores of Lake Victoria, he completed his mansion in 2015, which features several luxury amenities, including a helicopter pad, swimming pool, basketball court, indoor cinema, and twenty-five bedrooms.

When he gave Youtuber Miss Trudy a tour of his home, the online blogger called it “an amazing structure” and said, “This house is spectacular.”

The compound is spacious enough to park his fleet of luxury cars, including a Cross Country Mercedes-Benz AMG, two Land Rovers and other vehicles.

Kiggundu is the owner of Ham Towers in Wandegeya, and Ham Shopping Centre in Nakivubo, which are his most prominent properties, though he also owns many others.

In an interview with a local daily, Kiggundu said, “I have many commercial buildings. We have close to 10,000 tenants.”

Kiggundu also said he had plans to build a residential estate with up to 500 homes.

“What I am doing is not in line with individual development per say, but it is something I really want to do for my society,” he said in an online interview.

Kiggundu is interested in agriculture, philanthropy and education.
