Popular Senegalese-American singer, Akon recently caused a stir online as he weighed in on the controversial Old Cat Vs New Cat saga involving Davido and Burnaboy.
While speaking in a recent interview, 50-year-old Akon who rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of the song, “Locked Up” said Davido is a bigger artist than Burnaboy.
Recall that Davido, the ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker boldly said Burnaboy is a new cat when it comes to Afrobeat.
He asserts that Burnaboy belongs to the level of Asake, Mayorkun, Rema, Fireboy adding that him and Wizkid paved the way for the global recognition of Afrobeats.
When Akon was asked to choose the better artist between Davido and Burnaboy, Akon responded by choosing Davido over Burnaboy.
According to Akon, Davido is a musical beast that is far better than Burnaboy adding that the “Unavailable” crooner deserves more flowers than he has received.
“I’ll probably go with Davido, that kid right there is a beast. He’s another one I think that deserves more flowers than he’s received,” Akon noted.
